Getting lost on the Internet…

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, I’m a blog-a-holic. I read far too many blogs for anyone to keep straight, and yet I still keep my Google Reader jam packed. I’ve had the (1000+) post notice from Google before. Er, several times. This is when Google Reader gives up counting. Sometimes, I’ve had to just hit “Mark all as read.” But if I can get away with it, I’ll try to skim through and/or read all the good stuff.

Believe it or not, I still spend time reading wedding blogs. Why? Market research, of course. I love seeing what trends are in style, going out of style, and simply timeless. And no, I’m not longing to plan another wedding. Trust me, I’ll leave that to the wedding planners. But with a handful of friends springing up engaged, I thought I’d share my favorite wedding blogs.

So where do I spend my time in blog land when it’s not related to weddings? It’s a mix between business and fun.

  • Sage Wedding Pros – Michelle and Kelly are business dynamos teaching wedding pros how to rock their business.
  • Think Splendid – Liene is a social media maven and offers great advice for how to leverage it.
  • Lara Casey – She is Making Things Happen. all. the. time.
  • Brand Camp Blog – Advice on beefing up your brand.

So, there are more, but this is what is currently living in my Google Reader. I try not to subscribe to everything, otherwise I’d inevitably be glued to my laptop. All. the. time. And Cent enjoys interacting with me every now and then.

What are your favorite blog picks?

And because a picture will spice this post up, here’s my sister’s bouquet from the wedding.

Pacific Athletic Club Wedding: Jessica & Nelson

A bright day in late Spring.

A vintage Rolls Royce.

A super fun photobooth.

All of these parts comprised the joyful Redwood City wedding celebration of Jessica and Nelson.

Jessica and Nelson got ready at the Hotel Sofitel in Redwood City (and where my old company used to hold Christmas parties). Their ceremony was at St. Timothy Church in San Mateo, which is a charming little Catholic church. The reception was at the Pacific Athletic Club in Redwood City, which is a beautiful venue. In fact, when we first started looking for venues for our wedding, it was on our list.

Last June, I had the pleasure of shooting alongside Jessie Cho – my last shooting gig before our own wedding. I met Jessie initially through the [b] school and then we collaborated on a model shoot at Preston Castle in May. Jessie is fun to work with and is like a photography ninja – she’s everywhere!

Loved Jessica’s bouquet, so pretty.

Her veil was absolutely gorgeous with the lace edging.

We shot some portraits of Jessica & Nelson and their bridal party at San Mateo’s Central Park.

And a few indoor shots at the Sofitel.

Jessica and Nelson rented a vintage Rolls Royce to take them to their reception.

Their cake topper was super fun! Caricatures of themselves.

Table markers included trivia unique to Jessica and Nelson’s relationship. Cute!

This little guy was adorable! Just check out his dapper tuxedo paired with sneakers.

Jessica and Nelson were fab dancers. They started out with a slow dance to Elvis Presley’s Fools Rush In then mid-song broke out into a salsa!

Dancing must run in the family because Jessica and her dad tore up the dance floor!

Nelson looking fully funded after the money dance with matching twenty-dollar bill bow.

And one of Jessie, rocking some fun glasses before we had a chance in the Photobooth. Photobooths are so fun!

And I found this hilarious shot of me thanks to Jessie’s blog.

Thanks Jessie for inviting me along for Jessica and Nelson’s wedding. Had a blast!

Happy Wednesday!
