A couple of months ago, we casually brought up a conversation about Indian weddings. And how I’ve never shot one before. And how I’d love to one day. I was chatting with my friends Amy Pittsinger of Amy Barry Photography, and makeup artist Hima Pandya. Hima said we should set up a shoot. So we did. Hima’s gorgeous sister Urmi got to get back into her wedding sari for the first time since her wedding (and two kiddos later), and it was just amazing.
Amy and I shot at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano, and the weather, well, it was pretty perfect. And the sky? Bluer than ever.
I also, unknowingly, kicked over and possibly sat on an anthill. I swatted and patted my legs down wildly, and most likely looked like I was going a little nuts. Oh the things you do for an awesome photo shoot! Also, I’ll be adding anthills on my “What to watch out for list when taking pictures in Texas”.
I asked Urmi for a serious face. She gave me FIERCE.
Seriously, if I could shoot in this kind of light everyday of the week, I’d be one happy camper.
Hima rocked the makeup. If you’re in need of a makeup artist, Hima‘s the one to call!
And thanks to the JVS workshop I attended last month, I played with some off-camera lights. Helped in a pinch when it started to get dark.
Big thanks to Hima, Urmi, and Amy! So glad we got to do this together!
