I had a whirlwind adventure in the Big Easy! You can read about the adventure here.
So I was in the right place at the right time. I got the email and I happened to be sitting in front of the computer. Pictage had just sent out the go ahead to register for the hands-on shooting workshops. I knew that I should hesitate on registering. With just 25 spots open in about eight different workshops, there weren’t enough spots to go around for the 500 registered participants.
Another lucky point, I was already a member of Meetup.com. So that meant I was already logged in and all I had to do was click “Join”. Super easy. When I looked at how many spots were taken, HALF of the workshop was filled already. In like the first 2 minutes! I’m sooo glad I didn’t overthink and just did it.
For those that don’t know who the heck Mike Colon is, he’s a highly acclaimed celebrity wedding photographer based in Newport Beach. He creates amazing images and hosts fabulous workshops, last December he hosted one in Maui with gourmet chefs! It was just so cool to watch him work and see what he does. Like I can’t even begin to describe it, it was just so fun to see such a successful photographer work it. And he’s super nice too!
Without further ado and gushing, here’s the first set of model shots from Mike Colon’s PartnerCon workshop.
For the photographers out there, I used a Kelvin white balance which is what Mike shoots with.
We each got a chance to pose Jessica.
We were in this cool alley just a couple of streets down from the hotel.
New Orleans is such a cool city that has so many great backgrounds for photos.
Work it out Jess!
There are MORE photos! To follow in future blog posts.
Today’s blog post was brought to you by Karyn Kelbaugh Photography. Karyn was awesome to offer her internet while we’re still disconnected at the new house.
