Favorite Finds: Eye Primer

I wouldn’t consider myself a super girly-girl. I didn’t really start wearing any makeup until my junior year of high school. And I didn’t even really start wearing eye shadow on a regular basis until I was a senior in college. I’m more of a no-fuss no-muss kind of girl, and so the acquisition of new makeup products has never really been my thing. Until the last few years.

Now that I’ve started to wear more eye shadow and trying my best at a smoky eye for special nights out, I’ve needed to find the perfect base because I have oily skin. Inevitably, by the end of the evening, my eye shadow has creases in it or it’s melted off completely. Not sure if “melted” is the right word, but you ladies out there should know what I mean!

I recently purchased what has become my FAVORITE eye primer. EVER. It really works. Seriously, I tried it out while I was in Las Vegas and my eye makeup lasted. ALL. DAY. LONG. It’s BareMinerals‘ Prime Time Eye Primer.

I don’t really get too excited about makeup, but after using this, it’s quickly become my FAVORITE because I know my makeup will still be there after long day.

I’ve also used Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion, which I like, but the shape of the bottle makes me think that I’m not able to get all the product once it’s starting to run out.

Actually, my first introduction to any kind of eyeshadow primer product was from a quick trip to the MAC store in San Francisco. The makeup artist recommended the PAINTS, which I got pretty good use from. It comes in the variety of colors, and I definitely recommend consulting one of the artists on what color to purchase.

If you’ve been looking for something that works well, I definitely recommend Prime Time! And I definitely recommend using an eye shadow primer if you are prepping for your engagement session, bridal session, or wedding day! You will look absolutely fabulous all day, and you won’t have to worry about your eyes.

Happy Saturday!
