I love collecting things that I find pretty, or inspirational, or that sparks a great idea. The problem is that after awhile, pages of magazines fade, Post-Its of ideas get lost, and frankly, all those items start taking up too much space.
I love this website. I often have a ton of ideas swirling around in my mind or I’m surfing the internet and want to remember where I find an image. Normally, I’d just open a new tab in my browser and soon, I’d have twenty tabs open. And no system of organization. Pinterest is amazing because it’s all online, it stores the URL where it was found, and I can organize photos into neat and tidy boards of different topics of my choosing. I. LOVE. IT.
Maybe even too much.
The other great thing about is that you can check out what other people are “pinning” (what they call saving and posting a photo). Like in Tumblr, you can reblog an item by “repinning” it. I’ve seen lots of wedding inspiration and home decoration ideas. I can only imagine what it would have been like if I had a tool like this when I was planning our wedding. I’m sure I would have made an assortment of inspiration board for all the aspects of our wedding.
From the invitations to the escort cards, the dress to the groom’s outfit, from the menu cards to the table numbers, and everything in between. And of course the CAKE! I’d imagine that wedding planners would love their brides to use something like this, then they’d be able to view all their wedding ideas and it’s all stored online.
Pinterest is currently an invite-only system, so if you’d like an invite, leave a comment or email me!
