This past weekend we flew out to California to watch my sister graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. And not just graduate, but she also got to lead the College of Agriculture by carrying the pennant/flag thing, as well as finishing at the top of the College of Agriculture. She received a special Academic Excellence award and got to go on stage to be presented the award by the President of Cal Poly. How cool is that? She graduated with a 3.993. Yes, I totally think they should have just rounded up.
The CFO of Apple gave the commencement address and he’s also a Cal Poly Alum.
After the big graduation ceremony, there was a smaller department ceremony for the Nutrition and Food Science majors. My sister graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Food Science. She’s fancy like that.
Congrats Steph! I’m playing the proud sister card!
Next week she starts an internship at Del Monte (as in the fruit) in their Research and Development department. Maybe she’ll get to invent something cool.
