Author Archives: Catie Sometimes, there are moments when an epiphany strikes. A great idea. An unexpected moment of, “YES, I should totally do that!” This shoot was born out of one of those moments. I collaborated with the always wonderful and awesome stationery designer of Palm Papers, Lauren Chism, to bring a mini Valentine’s Day Shoot to life…. In honor of Valentine’s Day (although, I’m mostly in it for the candy), I collaborated with Lauren of Palm Papers to bring a mini shoot to life with some of her lovely stationery. Yes, it’s down to the wire… Over the last two years, I’ve co-hosted the Dallas Shootouts and met so many awesome photographers in the Dallas Metroplex. After receiving feedback from attendees on what they wanted to see more of, along with collaboration with fellow photographer Elisa Michelene, we are bringing something with a whole new twist. A little more instruction, a little… I’m pretty sure I could never be in a book club. I would totally be that member that didn’t read the book and showed up for the wine and snacks. And then would have nothing to contribute discussion-wise. In high school and college, I never really enjoyed reading because there was so much REQUIRED reading…. So the first time I went to WPPI, I went by myself. Sorta. I had “met” another photographer through a forum who was looking for a roommate. So I messaged her that I was interested and we made arrangements from there. At this point in time, I didn’t know any other photographers in real life…
