Last night, as I was watching TV, there was a little red reminder on the screen that read “Tornado Warning.”
Um, yeah. That’s not something I’m accustomed to.
My experience with tornadoes stems from The Wizard of Oz and the movie Twister. But never in my life would I know what one feels like or what to do. I’ve heard mixed information, ranging from hunkering down in a bathtub with a mattress over you or finding the center of your home and staying from windows. If you know the official answer, let me know.
In elementary school in California, we were taught about what to do in the event of an earthquake. In high school, after the wake of incidents like Columbine, we were taught how to “shelter in place” and basically hide in a classroom.
But not tornadoes.
And I’m thankful we don’t live in an area of high incidences of tornadoes…but still. Part of me is still a little scared. Tornadoes are so random.
Yet another thing to get used to living out here!
Tomorrow I have a shoot that I’ve been looking forward to for weeks. And the forecast keeps changing… so I will take prayers, vibes, sunshine dances, and other assorted means to keep the weather cool, calm, and collected tomorrow!
