I met Bakerella!

So, I love cake. If you’ve been reading my blog, that should be pretty evident.

And last year for my bridal shower, my sister and I made cake pops. What is a cake pop? It’s a delicious cake + frosting covered in candy coating creation on a stick. Also known as, THE BEST THING EVER.

I didn’t come up with the idea for cake pops on my own. I don’t remember when I came across the Bakerella blog, but it was some time while I was planning our wedding. And I’ve been smitten ever since.

Bakerella released a book this year on how to make her awesome cake pops and has been on a book tour for the last few weeks. Yesterday, she stopped in Dallas at the Williams-Sonoma store at North Park for a book signing. And I got to meet her. When I said to her that I really wanted to run out and make a batch (even though I shouldn’t because I’ll eat them all), she encouraged me (read: gave me permission) to make cake pops. She said, “You can eat just one…then share the rest!”

AHHH cake pops! My coworker makes them (sans the sticks, for easy transport). We call them the “heavenly cake bombs.”

How fun! I’ve seen them online for forever but still have never eaten one!
