It really is.
Long before my obsession with Red Velvet Cake began, Nutella was my first food love. Maybe it was because I ate it as a young child in France. Back before it ever made it to the United States. I remember the days when my mom, sister, and I got excited because World Market started carrying it. Albeit the little jar, but still, we didn’t have to ask friends in France to send it over!
And as I have evidenced in our home, I can go through a jar, way faster than I’d like to admit. And since it’s not Cent’s cup of tea, I eat it. All.
I remember last Thanksgiving, going to Georgia to spend the holiday with Cent’s family. And in their kitchen was a jar of Nutella. I got super excited. Like, so excited, my mother-in-law looked at me like I was nuts. And she said, “You like that?” and I enthusiastically replied, “Yes!” She told me that she had purchased a jar because she had seen the commercial on TV, but it wasn’t really her thing. I happily announced to her that I would be more than glad to take it off her hands. Yes, I brought back a third eaten jar of Nutella.
I love it.
It’s good on just about anything. Bread. English Muffins. Bananas. Strawberries.
Combine it with Peanut Butter, and it’s amazing.
I’m fiercely loyal to foods I love.
And I’d totally be lying if I said I didn’t want at least two of these giant jars. According to the photo info on Flickr, it’s a 5kg jar for 42,70€!
And I’m totally bummed that I can’t find larger than the small jar of Nutella in the supermarkets here. But I guess I’ll take what I can get.
