Giveaway: Ink & Button

07.26.2010

It started with a new follower.

A few months ago, Lisa Raser of Ink and Button started following me on Twitter. Seeing that this new follower was not spam and had a real profile, I checked out her Etsy store. And in a matter of seconds I was in love. On a whim, I sent a message to Lisa, and our Internet friendship started to grow. I asked her if I could photograph some of her work, and she sent me not one sample, but five! Since then, I’ve used a few of Lisa’s pieces in a couple projects.

And…I’m giving away one of her fascinators!

A little more about Lisa:

I am a Southern California native and I am currently living in Illinois as I finish up my PhD program in Speech Communication.  I got married to my wonderful husband Derren, a musician and a photographer, in May of 2009.  I was a complete DIY bride for our wedding and I loved handcrafting all the details!  Our wedding really re-inspired my creative side and after the planning was over, I began crating felt floral accessories.  I opened my Etsy shop, Ink & Button, in November of 2009.  I love going to antique shops to discover fun vintage buttons – large colorful coat buttons usually catch my eye but can be difficult to find!  I enjoy creating unique pieces around a special button and I love to do custom orders.  I have made hair accessories for brides, bridesmaids, bridal and baby showers, engagement and maternity photo shoots, and many birthday and Christmas gifts!  The next exciting challenge for Ink & Button will be to try boutonnieres  . . . I can’t wait!

Here’s how to enter:

You may enter up to three times.  First, visit Lisa’s Etsy shop, Ink & Button, take a look at her amazing creations (at the for sale and already sold pieces), and come back here and leave us the name of your favorite find in the comments.  Second way to enter, Twitter about this giveaway and mention @CatieRonquillo and @InkandButton in your tweet. And Third, answer this question in the comments:  What is the one accessory you cannot live without? For me, it’s earrings, hands down.

This giveaway will end on Friday, August 4th at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.  I will make the announcement of the winner, chosen at random, on Monday morning, August 9th!

I recently just purchased one of Lisa’s headbands and can’t wait to get it in the mail! Every time I visit her store I have to hold myself back from buying all of her goodness! On her site I’m loving The Courtney Fascinator (Goldenrod)- but I adore the red & black one above, too. 😉

Oops, forgot the last part. My favorite accessory (but definitely not one I wear on a daily basis) are fake eyelashes. They are so fun to wear out (even though I have really long eyelashes already). Hey, it gives them fullness, right?! :)

Oh Catie! We so have the same taste in all things fabulous! I just saw Ink and Buttons fascinators on twitter this week and put them on my list of things that every bride (myself) and all of my clients need. I like the 5th picture down on your post, the pink with the black and white polkas on the background. I would want it in purple because that is my wedding color scheme and I LOVE polka dots!

There is no one accessory I cant live without. I always wear earrings and almost always a necklace. Now I wear this engagement ring since I said yes! I NEVER wear a watch. But my new obsession is hair thingys. With this heat I am relying heavily on them to fancy my updos.

Im on my way to tweet and Im even gonna facebook for good measure and bonus points!

These are so stinkin cute! My favorite is the Sophia antique bridal fascinator :) I’d want this to go with my vintage, shabby chic peaches and cream scheme of my wedding. I’m incorporating pearls and vintage peach and gold jewelry. I absolutely can’t live without earrings when I go out but I’ve been really into layered necklaces lately. I’m not on twitter yet dang it….

The accessory I can’t live without would have to be earrings! The one’s I’ve been wearing on a pretty consecutive basis have been my pearls =) Thanks for this giveaway opportunity!

how in the freakin heck am i suppose to choose a favorite? don’t i have to answer enough hard questions in school? I guessss if i had to choose i would say the victoria fascinator, but that red and black one you have posted on top is pretty damn cute too.

What a fun site!! Her work is awesome. I really like The Maya Fascinator. That royal purple color is so pretty. =)

The accessory I can’t live without is my ring. I was never a real fan of rings until my grandfather gave me my grandma’s wedding band after she passed. Its such a simple ring, but means the world to me. I get some many compliments on it too! =)

Thanks for such a fun giveaway!

The Marybelle Fascinator (Sunshine Yellow Striped)
was one of her previous sales. It should just be named Funshine because the fabric covered cluster of buttons and sweet yellow stripes are great!

My can’t live without accessory-Earrings. I have short hair so I always have a chance to play up fun earrings whether they are studs or long chandeliers.

Emily Hudspeth should win this because she is amazing! She can sport this in front of all if her clients and they will all want to get one of their own! This would look amazing on her with her awesome purple highlights!

I was just checking the progress of this contest to see if the winner had been announced. I will wait patiently(ish) and hope for the best. Thanks, Autumn, Im glad you think I should win too.

great pics & such cute accessories! Accessory I can’t live without…my engagement & wedding ring. Most often I have on a necklace too. I also think Emily Hudspeth deserves the giveaway prize…she is amazing & would look fantastic with one of the Ink & Button creations!

Emily wants to win this so badly that she is twisting my arm as I post this. I know this is supposed to be a “random” drawing, but I think she should win the Maya Fascinator for several reasons: 1) She is awesome. 2) She wears items in her hair all of the time and totally reps the products that she wears. 3) She is a hair & makeup artist and would spread the word about Lisa’s wonderful work to her clients.

  • Reply Kelly Hudspeth 08.01.2010 at 11:04 pm

Emily needs to win because she could use this in her wedding. She would also be great advertisement because she promotes anything that she really likes.

hmm…It’s so hard to choose, though I do really love the Maya fascinator. Thanks so much for telling us about Ink and Button!
