Yesterday, I was praying. HARD.
Like, I was having a full-on conversation with God in my car as I drove to our photo shoot location.
That morning, I went out to run some errands and it was hot. About 92 degrees at 10 in the morning. And it was humid. And it was bright. I was thanking God that it wasn’t raining and prayed that maybe a little cloud would come and diffuse the harsh sun. Well, I think there’s a thing about being indecisive in prayer. I think you should know what you are praying for. Because obviously I didn’t.
I had been watching the forecast and thunderstorms were on the bill, so I prayed for sun. When the sun came out, I prayed for a cloud. Well, when the clouds rolled in and turned dark grey, I prayed for no rain.
I checked The Weather Channel app and it didn’t show any signs of precipitation until 6pm, and at 30% chance. And until then, the chance was 10%.
When the skies opened up and started to full on storm, and I was standing on the roof, protecting my camera from the elements and praying not to get struck by lightning, I said, “THIS IS NOT 10% CHANCE PRECIPITATION!!”
And after yesterday, I decided that I can no longer trust meteorologists. Because they are usually wrong. Completely wrong.
But I’m thanking God that my prayers were answered after just 20 minutes of rain. The clouds passed and we were able to shoot outside. And it cooled off the humid air to a comfortable temperature for my California sensibilities.
Although, I was totally sweating gallons (sorry if that’s TMI) and the humidity caused the entire top of my head to curl into a mini ‘fro. And when I got home, Cent said my hair was cute. At least there’s that.
