They met one summer preparing for a program in East Asia.
I always like to think that a little change in scenery opens new doors to opportunity, including matters of the heart.
While participating in a cultural exchange program, Stefanie and Patrick crossed paths. But were just friends. Three years later, when they were back in the States, they both happened to be in Fort Worth. Where they reconnected. And had their first official date. Patrick described how he had planned everything out. As an engineer, and having just moved to the area, he even did a couple of test runs of the route he’d take Stefanie to the various locations of their first date.
Except that he forgot to look up return directions. Not being very familiar with the area yet, he got lost. While trying to drive back to Stefanie’s. And Stefanie wondered where they were going too. Luckily, they were able to navigate back successfully. And even with a little mishap on their first date, their affection blossomed and were married last July. In fact, Stefanie and Patrick’s wedding anniversary is one week before our wedding anniversary!
I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a Beloved Portrait Experience for these two at the Fort Worth Water Gardens – which are so fun for any kind of portrait session.
What I love about these Beloved sessions is that it is an opportunity for the couple to reconnect, and for one afternoon just focus completely and totally on each other. The session is a happy mix of fun, silliness, and then some quiet connection.
The most beautiful moments happened as I stepped back and let them be together in the moment.
Thank you Stefanie and Patrick for sharing this experience with me. I wish you all the happiness and joy as you grow together!
