Beloved: Lynn & Jon

They met in medical school.

But it was not love at first sight.

In fact, Lynn and Jon ran in circles that intersected every now and then, but never in perfect parallel. She thought he was a partier. He thought she was a bit snobby. Lynn would host dinner parties (she loves to entertain guests) and some of Jon’s friends would come, but Jon would never attend. So they really didn’t think there was any magic there. At first. It wasn’t until their paths crossed at a swing dance class that their first real conversation started. She taught him to dance, and they’ve been dancing together ever since.

This weekend they celebrated their first anniversary as a married couple and five years since they started dating.

We started out at the Nylo Plano at Legacy Hotel in Plano, where the light in the guest rooms is lovely! And makes for some nice mid-afternoon portraits.

Lynn and Jon are so cute together. And very clearly in love.

Their love language includes baked goods, which, if you don’t know by now, is right up my alley! Yummy apple pie from Tart Pastry Studio.

When Lynn isn’t practicing medicine, she’s a budding portrait photographer, and has a great collection of fun cameras.

Lynn and Jon took photos of each other with old school Polaroid film. Check out the results!

We headed out to the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano. Thankfully, since it’s been warm all week, there was green! The nature preserve is a fabulous spot for engagement or anniversary photos.

It was super windy. Like seriously WINDY. But the light was beautiful, so we made the most of the wind!

This session is part of my new session offerings, called Beloved. Inspired by Canadian photographer, Jesh de Rox, Beloved sessions take the relationship of the couple and the artistry of photography to a whole new level. Spend an hour or two with your beloved, reignite the fire, rekindle the romance, recommence your love story, and experience BELOVED. You could be celebrating twenty years of marriage or just celebrating your couple of years together. You don’t have to be married or engaged, just bring your love for your Beloved.
