Today is my sister’s 20th birthday. Whoa. How did that happen?
Since we’re seven years apart, we’re only in the same age bracket every once in a while. And as she likes to remind me, just three more years (and a couple weeks) and I’ll be in my 30’s. Weird.
Here’s a picture of us on her 19th birthday, last year at Disneyland.
My sister Stephanie is pretty flippin’ amazing. She’s super smart. Like, she aced Organic Chemistry. She was showing me amino acid structures that she had to memorize for her Biochemistry class on iChat the other day, and trust me, I wasn’t jealous. She’s funny, like a comedic genius, simply because she’ll say things that come out of the blue. She’s thoughtful, always thinking of others. She’s fun to hang out with and is always up for going to lunch and the movies with me.
Since I’m in Texas now, I wasn’t able to go home and spend her birthday with her. But our parents drove down to visit her at college and they’ve been partying it up. And my parents know how to wish us happy birthday – song and dance included. And her friends from school had a surprise dinner for her. With balloons. It’s no surprise, my sister is awesome.
Happy Birthday dear little sister! I love you, you are amazing, and will go down in history for writing the MOST epic Maid of Honor speech EVER.
So I leave you with a line from her speech, “And then we grew up some more…”
P.S. It’s also our six month anniversary! Woo hoo!
