Heading to the Big Easy!

Today I’m heading out to New Orleans for a photography conference, Pictage’s PartnerCon. New Orleans has been one of the cities topping my list of cities to visit. And now I have the opportunity to go! Since it’s my first time going to the Big Easy, I’m ready for suggestions on where to go, what to eat, and what to see. While I’ll be spending most of my time indoors, getting my photography education on, I know I’ll have a little bit of time to explore.

I can only imagine how awesome it would be to shoot a wedding in New Orleans. With the historic French Quarter, Garden District, and Arts District, the Big Easy is overflowing with photographic opportunities!

I’m also definitely going to scope out the beignet situation. I’ve heard that Cafe du Monde is the spot to indulge!

Fried dough? Yes, please!

I’m super excited that I was able to get into Mike Colon’s 2-hour hands-on shooting workshop. I’m sure it’s going to be awesome. Another cool opportunity I’m looking forward to is volunteering for the charity photo shoot, which will benefit Katrina survivors. Over 100 volunteers from the conference will the participating in mini family portrait sessions, giving these families a chance to walk away with new photographic memories.

Have suggestions for sights to see and goodies to eat? Leave them in the comments!

Can’t wait to report back from the Big Easy!
