I missed his text message. He called me saying that he was waiting at the curb. Where was I? Still at home. Oops.
I drove up to the Mineta San Jose International Airport, and there he was shaking his head at me. Somehow, even with my best intentions, I’m always running late. Maybe it’s because I underestimate the time it takes to get from point A to point B or I overestimate the amount of time I have left before I have to go somewhere. Or I just take for granted that my friends and family know that I’m perpetually late. Never at a photo session. Just in my personal life. Go figure.
I hadn’t heard the text message arrive and his flight wasn’t supposed to arrive for twenty more minutes. I guess the tailwinds were working in the plane’s favor. After all was said and done, he smiled, we both laughed at me, and all was back to normal.
Cent, my fiance, was here over the weekend. We’ve been juggling our long distance romance for the last three years, and by the end of summer we will finally be in the same place at the same time, permanently. We had a variety of wedding related activities including our food tasting, cake tasting for him, a meeting with our officiant, and cell phone upgrading. Ok, so that last one is not related necessarily to wedding plans, but eventually we will be merging our cell phone plans. Oh and did I mention the Resident Evil 5 Launch Party?
He’s a gamer. There was a new game. The party happened to coincide with the weekend he was here. It was his birthday Monday. Add those all up, you get me going to a Resident Evil 5 Launch Party in San Francisco at Union Square. It was pretty good people watching.
I resisted eating cake as there were THREE at the Friday night gathering with my family. One for Cent. One for my grandma. One for my aunt. Nuts. And I couldn’t eat any of them. Talk about self control.
Food tasting has got to be one of the best parts of wedding planning. Although, in my book, cake tasting is number ONE. Here’s just a little taste of what we stuffed our face with.
Oh and we went to the AT&T store three times. Third time was the charm where he went home with an iPhone. Against his will. Well, almost. It was the best solution for his phone needs and wants. Sorry, all the PC platforms just did not cut it. Apple rules!! I really wanted one, but it looks like it will have to wait for a little longer. Hopefully I can get one before the end of the month when sales tax goes up a whole percent. Then we can get on the same Family Plan.
