While in Las Vegas at WPPI, amidst the tradeshow and the platform classes, the parties and the dinners, I had the opportunity to have a little fun with off-camera flash with my photographer friend Lisa Whalen.
I was totally pooped from all of the WPPI goings-on that by Wednesday night I figured that I would just veg out in front of the sparsely channeled TV. Lisa had arranged a shoot with Jessie, one of the models from the [b] school Neon Boneyard shoot. Lisa called me to ask if I might be interested. “Yes!” was my response, as I found some newfound energy to go shoot something. I had neglected my DSLR all week!
I’ve only dabbled in off-camera flash techniques very sparingly, so having some time to play with it was so cool! Thanks for inviting me, Lisa! Check out Lisa’s images here. The LED billiboard that is right outside the MGM entrance off the bridge provided some really interesting light to work with, in addition to the flash. This was so fun!
Jessie was wonderful to work with and I’m sure will be a wildly successful model someday.
I had a bunch of great images from this shoot that I thought I’ll leave you wanting more! Stay tuned for Part 2!
