So I honor of my birthday, my fiance’s birthday (on Monday), and our engagement anniversary (March 1), I’m so excited to announce the launch of my new blog! Now ready to showcase BIG photos and the friendliness of a WordPress interface. No need to change any bookmarks as I’m still hosting from the same address. To see my old blog (although everything was moved over), you can visit it here.
Have your cake and eat it too!
Speaking of which, above is my last piece of cake until Easter. You see, it’s Lent. It’s the 40 days and 40 nights before Easter. I had the rare opportunity this year to have my birthday fall before Lent, usually it’s well after. So what? Well this year I gave up cake, in addition to some other efforts to improve myself.
And most people have asked, “Is cake really a sacrifice?”
Well, let me put it this way. I love it. Sometimes Cent thinks I love it more than him. And in my family, between the New Year and Easter, there are at least 12 birthdays or celebratory events, and usually involve some cake. So yes, I will say that it’s a major temptation and it spices up my reflection time during Lent. Gives it a little more of a direct challenge.
In the last three days, I’ve been faced with cake THREE times. All three were not even within the designated celebrations. And I said, “No,” which took some serious will power. So see? It’s a challenge.
See you in April.
